Judicial Digital Preservation System

A tripartite agreement has been signed between C-DAC Pune, the Department of Justice (DoJ), and the eCommittee of the Supreme Court of India, New Delhi, for the software development, deployment, and technical support of the Judicial Digital Preservation System (JDPS) for the judiciary over a three-year period.

The agreement was signed by Shri Satya Pratap Singh, Joint Secretary, Department of Justice, New Delhi; Shri Sanjay Wandhekar, Centre Head, C-DAC Pune; and Shri Puspender Singh, Member (Process), e-Committee, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi.

The Judicial Digital Preservation System (JDPS) for the judiciary is being developed by the HCDC group at C-DAC Pune in collaboration with the e-Committee of the Supreme Court of India, New Delhi. JDPS aims to ensure the long-term preservation of digitized judicial records in accordance with international standards and best practices. The system includes digital preservation software along with tools for data validation, conversion, and integration of judicial records, while ensuring interoperability with existing e-Courts systems. Additional objectives include deploying JDPS across the Supreme Court and all High Courts in India, and providing training to judicial staff on the software tools and technologies developed under the project.

Shri NigodDhurke, Scientist E, is spearheading the development, deployment, and management of JDPS, with significant technical contributions from Shri Srinu Naik, Scientist E; Shri Saurabh Koriya, Project Manager; Shri Ritesh Malviya, Senior Project Engineer; and Project Engineers Shri Manhar, Ms. Samrudhi Gadadare, Shri Utkarsh Pawar, Shri Prabhat Vishwakarma, along with other members of the HCDC group.
