The Research and Technology Conclave (RTC) 2026 was conducted on March19th - 20th, 2026 under Thiruvananthapuram Research Innovation Cluster (TRIC) with the participation of eight Central Government research institutions in Thiruvananthapuram: Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), C-DAC, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), National Centre for Earth Science Studies (NCESS), ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI), CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST), and Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST).These institutions under different ministries and departments of the Government of India represent diverse domains spanning space science, biotechnology, agriculture, earth sciences, engineering, and medical sciences, collectively strengthening interdisciplinary research and innovation in Thiruvananthapuram. The conclave served as a collaborative platform to strengthen interdisciplinary research, promote translational technologies, and foster partnerships with industry and academia.
Scientists from C-DAC, Thiruvananthapuram delivered technical presentations on the first day of the Research Conclave as part of the RTC 2026. The presentations highlighted C-DAC’s expertise in digital health systems, indigenous medical imaging technologies, bio-signal systems, and data-driven platforms, demonstrating their role in supporting interdisciplinary research, advancing healthcare innovation, and enabling collaborative scientific initiatives across institutions.
On the second day of the event, during the Technology Conclave, C-DAC actively contributed by demonstrating innovative technology solutions and engaging with industry stakeholders. The team showcased research outcomes, prototypes, and digital technology platforms with potential for real-world deployment and societal impact. The demonstrations underscored the importance of translating research into practical applications and strengthening collaboration between research institutions and industry.
The official launch of the Consortium Web Portalby Cmde Sandeep Wadhwa (Retd), ED in charge C-DAC, Thiruvananthapuram, designed and developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), was an important highlight of the Research and Technology Conclave 2026. The portal serves as a digital platform for collaboration and resource identification based on research expertise, enabling visibility of institutional capabilities and coordinated activities among the eight participating institutions. The launch represents a step towards strengthening the digital platform that supports collaboration, resource discovery based on expertise, and coordinated research and innovation initiatives across participating institutions.
