C-DAC, Mohali successfully conducted a two-week Specialized Programme on Security Applications of AI (Feb 18thto March 03rd,2026), bringing together 25 participants from 10 countries including Dominican Republic, Kenya, Mauritius, Fiji, Bhutan,Myanmar,Niger, Libya, South Sudan and Rwanda. The programme was conducted under the ITEC Scheme of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
The sessions mainly coveredAI Security Project Lifecycle,AI for Threat Detection,Anomaly identification, AI-Driven Attacks, Adversarial AI, AI-Powered Malware Detection & Automated Analysis, AI-Based Incident Response, Ethical, Safe & Responsible Use of AI in Security.

Shri Anupinder Singh (Project Technician) played a key role in ensuring seamless internet connectivity and maintaining the networking infrastructure. Ms. Shilpa Chandel (Project Associate) effectively handled the laboratory setup, software installations, and offered hands-on technical support to participants.Their dedicated efforts and efficent technical support were instrumental in the smooth execution and successful completion of the programme.
A one-day industry visit to the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) Centre, Sector-9, Chandigarh, was organized for participants to familiarize them with emerging AI-driven security applications, facilitate industry interaction, and provide real-world exposure to AI and cybersecurity implementations.
A valedictory ceremony was heldon March 3, 2026, at C-DAC Mohali to mark the successful completion of the programme, reflecting the dedication and collaborative efforts of participants, faculty, and support staff. Participants from 10 countries actively joined the ceremony. The event was graced by Shri Navdeep Singh Chahal, Scientist F & Head of the Cyber Security Technology Division, and Shri Sunil Chillar, Scientist F, along with other distinguished faculty members.
Shri Navdeep Singh Chahal appreciated the participants for their confidence and highlighted the importance of AI-driven security applications across sectors such as power & energy, telecom, BFSI, transport, healthcare/pharma, IT/ITES, industry, research, and academia. He encouraged them to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the programme in their respective organizations and assured continued support from the C-DAC technical team for any future guidance or queries.
The participants expressed sincere appreciation for the training programme and extended their gratitude to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and C-DAC for organizing such a comprehensive and enriching course. They also valued the field visit to the 112 Security Operations Centre in Chandigarh, along with study visits to iconic landmarks such as Jallianwala Bagh and the Golden Temple in Amritsar.The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants, marking the successful completion of the programme.
The successful completion of the ITEC training programme on "Security Applications of AI" was achieved thanks to the invaluable guidance and support of Shri Ajay Mudgil, Scientist E and Head of the Education & Training Division, and Ms. Manjit Kaur, Scientist E and ITEC Coordinator, Education & Training Division. Their constant encouragement, administrative assistance, and efficient coordination were pivotal in the smooth execution of the programme.
