C-DAC, Pune in collaboration with BRACT's Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT), Pune, successfully concluded the five-day "Emerging Technologies Training Program (ETTP)", held from August3rd to 7th, 2026. C-DAC, Pune played a key facilitating role in the programme by bringing together scientists and domain experts from C-DAC across multiple emerging technology domains and supporting the delivery of expert-led technical sessions.

Aim of this programmewas to create a strong R&D and academia partnership that equips faculties and students with industry-relevant knowledge, practical skills, research opportunities, and exposure to emerging technologies. It also supports national initiatives such as Viksit Bharat 2047, IndiaAI, Make in India, Semicon India, and the National Quantum Mission, while promoting innovation, research, advanced skill development, and the creation of a skilled and globally competitive workforce.

The programme received an overwhelming response, with more than 1000+ registrations from faculty members, research scholars, industry professionals, postgraduate students, and technology enthusiasts. The programme featured 10 expert-led sessions covering a diverse range of contemporary technologies.

The programme was inaugurated by Shri. Gaur Sunder, Scientist F & HoD, ACTS,C-DAC, Pune and in his inaugural speech highlighted the significance of emerging technologies, innovation, and stronger R&D –academia collaboration in preparing for the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

C-DAC Pune made technical contribution through its experts Shri. Om Jadhav, Shri.Amit Saxena, Shri.Manish Gupta, Shri.Kaushal Sharma, and Shri.I. Prabu, who delivered sessions covering High-Performance Computing, Quantum Technologies, Agentic AI, Drone Technologies, and Geospatial Technologies. VIT Pune experts Dr. Vivek Patil, Dr. Parikshit N. Mahalle, Dr. Nitin Sakhare, Dr. Anuradha Yenkikar, and Dr. Chandrakant Kokane also contributed sessions on Prompt Engineering, Next-Generation AI Agents, Cyber Security, Vision Transformers and Vision-Language Models, and Clinical Natural Language Processing using Large Language Models.

The programme was overall organised by C-DAC Pune representatives Shri. Devashish Tamrakar, Scientist E, and Ms. Madhuri Nimbalkar, Project Engineer, who contributed to the coordination and facilitation of the initiative.

Beyond the technical sessions, ETTP provided exposure to national R&D initiatives, technology demonstrations, case studies, research and innovation discussions, and opportunities for networking with researchers and faculty members. The initiative also created a strong foundation for future joint innovation, faculty development, upskilling programmes, and collaborative research and development activities between C-DAC, Pune and VIT Pune.

The successful completion of ETTP 2026 marks a significant milestone in strengthening the R&D – Academiaecosystem and fostering a culture of continuous learning, research, innovation, and technological advancement.
