Master Trainer Programme on Cyber Security

C-DAC Mumbai (Regional Coordinator Centre) conducted a two-day Master Trainer Programme on Cyber Security on March24th–25th,2026 for teachers of residential schools under the OBC Welfare Department at Amravati under the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) Programme of MeitY, Government of India.

The programme was inaugurated bySmt Sarita Bobade, Assistant Director, Other Backward Bahujan Welfare Department, Amravati and Shri Rajesh Chaudhary, Other Backward Bahujan Welfare Officer (Group-B), Amravati.

The programme was attended by over fiftyparticipants in collaboration with teachers of residential schools under the OBC Welfare Department, with the objective of building capacity among educators to act as Cyber Safety Mentors and promote safe digital practices among students.

The training sessions covered critical aspects of cybersecurity including cyber threats targeting students, such as UPI frauds, gaming scams, and social engineering. Sessions also addressed cyber bullying, online harassment, and its psychological impact, along with social media ethics and digital responsibility in educational environments.

Further, participants were sensitized to risks related to fake profiles, impersonation, morphing, and sextortion, as well as the role of Artificial Intelligence in education, including both opportunities and misuse such as deepfake and voice cloning. Participants were also enrolled in the Cyber Shikshak initiative and introduced to Cyber Club activities, enabling them to actively promote cybersecurity awareness within their institutions.

The workshop included practical sessions and interactive activities such as case studies, cyber safety role-play simulations, phishing detection exercises, and demonstrations on cybercrime reporting mechanisms and evidence preservation. The programme also emphasized student data privacy, digital classroom safety, and cyber discipline in hostile environments.

The feedback received from participants was highly positive. All participants reported a significant improvement in their awareness of cyber threats. The programme successfully empowered teachers to act as Cyber Safety Mentors for schools and hostels, contributing towards building a secure and cyber-aware digital ecosystem.

The initiative by C-DAC Mumbai (RCC) marks a significant step towards strengthening cybersecurity awareness at the grassroots level under the ISEA Programme.
